I'm Never DIYing Again

I really, sincerely love craft projects. And this is why it is so sad for me to throw in the towel for the time being. Because for all my good intentions, everything I DIY falls apart.

The other night, it was about 2:30 in the morning when I heard a small shattering noise.* I bolted upright out of bed, Matt grabbed one of his golf clubs and we went through the house making sure Elliott hadn't knocked anything over and that none of the windows were broken. Finding all the doors still locked and the windows still intact, and Elliott looking bewildered and exhilarated that we were up and ready to play some four hours early, we went back upstairs. I went to use the restroom, and that's when I discovered what the shattering noise was.

Our Corpus seashells! Now one of them is broken, and the whole thing didn't even fall apart symmetrically, so now it just looks weird.

I'll probably hot-glue it back together, but now I'm afraid that the other shells will fall off and break too, and then we'll have a lovely frame full of broken shells to remind us that yes, we had fun on the beach and now we're hoarders who can't get rid of crap when it breaks.

What would you do?

*All of my projects that actually, literally break always fall apart in the middle of the night. What is with that? We've had a couple of our gallery wall frames fall off the wall, always in the middle of the night. I think my house is trying to make me have a heart attack.
