Baby, You a Song

"You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruuuuuise..."

I think this song is kind of funny. It's a country song, but it doesn't really feel like it is. Especially because there's a version where Nelly raps mid-song. I can't decide which version I like more. (Admittedly, they sound totally different, and when I realized both versions made the iTunes top 50, I thought it was two different artists doing the same song.)

The country version.

But it's quintessentially a summertime song, and I'm getting a head start on searching for summer jams that are perfect for rolling down the windows and cranking the radio.

I think everyone on the planet — myself included — listened to Fun's "We Are Young" on repeat for the entirety of 2012.

In 2011, my summer jam was "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry. I must have listened to it about a thousand times. Good thing it never rains here, 'cause the windows were down a lot.

In the event that I was listening to the country station instead of the Top 40 one, I'd rock out to some "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."

Tell me about some of your past summer jams! What's going to be on rotation for you this summer?

  1. Cruise is definitely a good one! I really like the version with Nelly!
