Shopping for Kittens

Erm, kitten heels. Not actual kittens. Elliott would never forgive me if I brought home another boo.

Whenever I hang out with my mom and sister, we inevitably wind up shopping. And almost every time we go shopping, we visit a few shoe stores, because my mom is always on a quest to find kitten heels. I got my first pair of them like eight years ago, and they were awesome and went with everything and I wore them so much that they died pretty quickly. My mom also had some really cute pairs that have since worn out, and apparently people no longer sell kitten heels because we haven't seen them in actual stores in years.

So I took to the Internet. It's my favorite place to shoe shop. :) Of course, my mom probably won't like most of these, because she calls pointy-toed shoes "roach killers." Oh well, I tried.

Of course my favorite ones are $$$$. Sigh. Jimmy Choo "Escarpin" — $550

I love bows on toes. The end. Nine West "Relavent" — $76

There are lots of colors available, but this is my favorite. RSVP "Maren" — $69

Love the color. Isaac Mizrahi "Grisel" — $140

Adorable metal detailing. 77Queen Metal-Tip Contrast-Color Kitten-Heel Pumps — $48

Love the fun pattern! BC Footwear Winners Circle Printed Heel — $70

Okay maybe I like shoes with ANYTHING on the toes. Styleberry Beaded Peep-Toe — $74

They'll go with everything! Dune Akon Mid Heel Leopard Court Shoes — $116

Do you like kitten heels?

  1. I wish I looked good in kitten heels! I tried to get in on the trend last time they were in style, but after a day of trying on shoes and feeling bad about my legs, I realized they just weren't flattering on me. Oh well, good thing I am still able to walk in high heels for the time being. I really like those red ones with the metal toes though!

    1. I'll add, I know kitten heels aren't really considered "in style" right now, but my mom refuses to wear any heel that's higher than an inch, because they hurt her feet. But I know they don't quite create the same "long and lean" look that higher heels do!

  2. Ugh, I'm loving the coral ones. It is a good thing they are way more than I would ever pay for shoes ;)

  3. Kitten heels are so fun! I don't wear them much, I'm more of a mid-heel gal (2-3") but they are adorable. Wish they were easier to find!

  4. I like the red ones with the metallic details! In general I just can't get into kitten heels, because I look awful in them... I have this weird fear that they give me kankles. I always feel less self-conscious in regular 3-4" heels - I'm with Karisa. BUT I can't wear no 5" heels to my workplace, all of the manly-man guys I work with make fun of me, so I've found I can get away with nude wedges with 1-2" heels. Not the kind with straw wedges, those are too summery for most of the year - more like leather wedges, which give you more of a boost than flats (and honestly I think they're more comfortable). Nordstrom Rack always has tons of wedges, you should check there!

    1. Ha, I can't wear 5-inch heels anywhere! I bought a pair of 4.25" heels once and felt like my feet were breaking! I'll have to check Rack, I can always use more shoes. ;)

  5. I'm not usually a kitten heel fan, but those teal ones are SO CUTE! My mom always called pointy-toed shoes roach killers too, haha. I love 'em!

  7. I love kitten heels, I like to feel elevated without having to deal with high heels all the time. I love the first two, patent leather and bows are my weakness.
