I'm not a big fan of coffee. I love the way it smells, but I can't stand how it tastes.
The other night, we were at HEB, standing in front of the ice cream case, looking for a new flavor of Bluebell. We've already exhausted all the pint flavors, and now we're stuck buying a half-gallon for any new flavors we want to try. Matt suggested the Coffee ice cream, and when I refused, he reminded me that if I want to try every flavor, I'll eventually have to suck it up and buy it. But I wanted a good, chocolate-y ice cream that night. We compromised with Mocha Almond Fudge.
The fudge part is good. When I drown the mocha part in chocolate syrup, it's okay too. But I still don't like coffee. And I'm dreading the day we have to purchase the actual Coffee flavor.
Do you like coffee-flavored ice cream?
Other flavors I've recently tried: Gingerbread House (mmmm), Butter Crunch (bought in pint size, and then Matt tried to eat my pint because it was better than his), Mexican Praline (I thought it was okay, Matt didn't like it).
Coffee ice cream is my FAVORITE. (but then, I love coffee). You do want to try every flavor, but could you get away with getting one of those little sample spoons rather than a whole scoop? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhoops, nvm, for some reason I was thinking bluebell was an ice cream joint. Yeah, that's going to be a tough bullet to bite when the time comes. (You could just try it and then send the leftovers to me... Do you think shipping from TX to CA would work for ice cream?)

You know, there are a few places around here that sell individual scoops like normal ice cream shops. I hadn't even thought about getting some of the flavors I don't like as much there! I will have to take a look next time I go!
DeleteYou can buy it on a weekend that I'm coming into town and I'll handle the leftovers for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds good! Matt might fight you for it too. :)
