As I mentioned in my last book post, I somehow wound up with two copies of the novel "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay. Chances are very good that my grandma read it for her book club and gave it to me, then her other book club decided to read it, so she bought it again and gave it to me again. This is how I come by about half of the books I own. Her book clubs have very good taste.
But anyway, I had two copies and since I loved this book so much, I want to share it with someone else. So I'm giving one of them away!

No one is compensating me or anything for this giveaway. This is all me.
One of my favorite books is The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. My brother read it for school back in elementary school and talked about it so much I wanted to read it too. I love the mystery, clue-like style of the book.
ReplyDeleteOoo how exciting. I want to enter! although it will probably take me forever to read it, since I am slow. Slow to read that is. : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is one that I just read. "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak. I love that it is narrated by Death in a time of war and shows the integrity of people living in an extreme society. The writing is beautiful and the depth of the characters is astounding.
ReplyDeletePicking just one favorite book is so hard! I can't even pick a favorite author, but I do like Dean Koontz (his older stuff more than his recent), Stephen King, Dan Brown, Iris Johansen...there's just too many good authors to name!
ReplyDeleteI have so many favorite books - it changes frequently! But I'd say the one that has consistently remained a favorite for years is The Shining by Steven King!
ReplyDeleteOH man, my life is consumed by baby books these days - the last great books I read were the Hunger Games trilogy, but I'm loving Tina Fey's book that I've been trying to read for months now!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is one I haven't read since High School (should really bust that sucker out and read it again) The Hiding Place. It's not the norm of what I read (fantasy/science fiction), I think it was on a school reading list or something but I loved it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book (and one of my favorite movies) is a Clockwork Orange
ReplyDeleteOh man, as an English major, this is a dangerous question! I have way too many favorites. But the one that changed my life was Incidents in a Life of a Slave Girl. I spent over two years of my life studying that book and wrote my undergraduate thesis on it. It's the book that made me decide to focus on African American literature and go to grad school. It is such an important and powerful book, and I think Harriet Jacobs (the author) has so much to teach us woman about courage, strength, and independence. She is truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm forever in love with the allegorical wisdom of 'The Phantom Tollbooth' by Norton Juster!
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for that book from the library for months. I don't think I could pick a favorite...but Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides is up there!
ReplyDeleteThere's no way I could possibly pick a favorite, but my recent obsession has been the Diana Gabaldon series!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can pick a fav... I love the Hunger Games series, Dan Brown books, James Rollins books, Kristen Hannah books... The list goes on and on.
